Electronic item Removal Tips
Every household is full of electronic items these days. Due to high cost of these items, moving an electronic item require some understanding of the product. Although each item is different, there are general set of rules which applies to each one of them.
- If you have not thrown away the original packing, you are lucky. Moving in original packing will keep the warranty intact, and provide you the best, cheap, compact and safest packing way. Original packing is suitably made for electronic items to absorb transit shocks.
- If you do not have the luxury of the original packing, do not worry, a bubble wrap surround and a well cushioned box will act the same.
Air-Conditioning & Fridges
- As explained in the fridge moving section, air-conditioners also require to be switched off for at-least 24 hours before the move, to make cooling gases stabilize before the move. ( refer to the user manual for exact manufacturer’s instructions )
- Backup all your data before the move, if you do not have external hard – drives, use DVDs for backup. Store the optical drives separate from the computer, so in the event of a damage to the computer the data is safe in the discs.
